Handicap-24 golfer, Grace Gachoka is the winner of the Pan Africa Life Cancer Challenge
that took place at the 18-hole par-71 Nyali Golf and Country Club over the weekend. Grace scored 19 points on the front nine and 24 points on the back nine for a total of 43 stableford points to emerge tops in the tournament that attracted golfers to the coastal town of Nyali. Coming in second was Paul Krijnen with 41 points.
In third place was handicap-22 Golfer Murtaza Saeed who managed 16 points on the first nine and 23 points on the second nine. Handicap-20 Lady Golfer Lyn Nicholls scored 39 points to win the lady’s category ahead of Pia Swatton who came in second with 38 points. In the guest category, Jeremy Ngunze emerged best with 32 points.
The staff prize was scooped by Cecilia Ndung’u playing off handicap-36. Cecilia managed 15 points on the front nine and 21 points on the back for a total of 36 points. In the junior category, Sanjiv Dhuita topped with 30 points; 13 on the first nine and 17 on the second nine. Julius Longe’i playing off handicap 25 dominated the first nine with 22 points while handicap-26 Golfer Eric Ngeera was best on the second nine with 22 points.
The Nearest to the Pin prizes went to Satish Talwar and Wambui Warui. Grace Gachoka, Paul Krijnen, Murtaza Saeed , Lyn Nicholls and Reaz Alibhai secured slots to play at the Grand Finale. Speaking during prize presentation, Tom Gitogo (pictured), Pan Africa Life CEO said the series had been a success so far and promised next year’s series would be bigger and better.
